In earlier versions of Windows Mobile the top and bottom bars used to be flat, but with the glossier Windows Mobile 6 and 6.1 glossy bars (or gradient) were introduced. In yesterday's post I talked about using a flat black theme to acheive a smooth hardware to software transition. But most themes (.tsk files) will install with the glossy bars by default. To achieve the flat look again, which looks great on any flush screen device, follow the instructions given here.
