Once we bought a home, I imagined that we would be free to do anything we wanted with it. Not anything wild or crazy....just anything. But it seems that everything we do must be preceded by a moment when we stop and think about how the project may affect our home's value. So, we own the home- but we just need to be mindful of the next owner.
Same goes for electronic gadgets. I purchase a new phone or gizmo and carefully stash the box and manuals in a cabinet. I know that someday, sooner rather than later, I'll be listing it on eBay as an item gently used in the original box.
So, at the end of the day is it all just a rented life? How different is it from a Rent-A-Center? What items do you own but still treat in a manner to get top dollar after use?
