In my mind this combination seemed to have all the makings of a great look- a pop of color over a structured black dress with some pearl accents. In reality it just didn't quite make it. Something about the pairing ended up looking matronly and the funky pearl accents made me look like a matron headed to church choir. I still can't pinpoint exactly what I did wrong here but rest assured, it won't happen again.
