WVGA Screen- What apps will run?

So, another video of the Sony Xperia has surfaced and this one is more in depth. I looked closely at the specs and noticed that its listed as a WVGA screen of 800 x 480. What is going to be able to run on that? 2 years ago or so I had a VGA Jasjar that had a resolution of 640 x480 and there were numerous apps that couldn't run on it, and then those that could looked really bad and were pixelated horribly. 
Have things changed so much, or is there going to be a problem being able to run apps on this gem?

HTC Shift is 800 x 480. There should be a good number of Youtube videos around that show how it looks. Hopefully I'll have them this week (?)

When you get yours I'd love to see some screencaps with a few 3rd party apps to see how it looks. Esp RSS with images, Coreplayer or TCPMP and a few games.
