Why Can't We Let the Dead RIP?

What a salacious society we have become. Last week's People magazine was all about the possible existence of Heath Ledger's secret love child and today the big news from beyond is of a Marilyn Monroe sex tape. Why are these big news items? The celebrities are deceased, for goodness' sake! The media should be able to allow the dead the respect and dignity that they deserve.
