Ever since the iPhone was released it seems that everywhere I look I see homescreens modeled after it. I'm confused. I can't deny that there is a lot of innovation coming from the iPhone, but one of the least useful features in my opinion is the homescreen-it reminds me of the Palm launcher screen. I rely on being able to turn on my device and seeing a substantial summary at a glance. So to me, it is much more useful to see this:
than it is for me to see this:
What's the big attraction?
