Comixology

I've loved Archie comics since I was a kid and lately I've been looking for an easy way to enjoy them on my Tab. I ended up looking Comixology into which I can best describe as the Kindle app of comics. Buy on one platform and sync to all your devices seamlessly-without any hassle at all.  I'm addicted to this app, especially since Archie comics are only 99cents!   Comixology

My New Macbook Pro

Its been a week since I got my new Macbook and so far I've been very happy with it. Fedex delivered it a day earlier (which ended up getting it here last Friday instead of this Monday). I've got it set up pretty much exactly how I want it and have been playing around with iPhoto extensively. So far the biggest disappointment has been that Tivo Desktop for Mac does not allow you to download shows from your Tivo to the computer. But that's a small price to pay for everything else. Top scores go to battery life and general ease of use.

Mac(book) Attack!

Over the past 2 years I've had a hankering to see what the Mac mystique is all about- but a general inclination to reject all things Apple has hampered the desire. Last year I lasted all of a week with the iPad before returning it. In 2009 I had an iPod Touch that served me relatively well until I felt it's need was negated by my Nexus one.
Over the last few days our 5 year old HP Laptop that we share in the den has been making loud grinding noises. After discussing the matter, Dean suggested we get something new and I decided it would be the perfect time for me to satisfy my Macbook craving once and for all. On Wednesday I put my order in online for the 15 inch Macbook pro and upgraded to the hi-res screen. Its due to be delivered on Monday and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

Solitary Confinement

This has been one of the weirdest weeks of my life. Last Saturday morning (at 5 am!!) I took my guys to the airport and they headed to New Jersey to spend the week visiting Dean's mother. I spent a quiet weekend reading, watching movies and kept myself entertained. On Monday I went to work and heard rumblings of an impending ice storm-sure enough by Tuesday morning we had been hit overnight with sleet and with the sub-freezing temps the roads were sheets of ice. The rest of the week became a state of emergency and my clinic was closed for the next 4 days. I was trapped at home without my family and no idea when it would all be over.
Over the past 5 days I've been doing a lot of reading on my Galaxy Tab with my Kindle app. I've also watched several movies from Netflix on our Wii. This week has made me really appreciate having my Tab. Its enabled me to play WordFeud, read, watch my podcasts while leaving my phone purely for talking. That was the idea I had in 2009 when I had an iPod Touch as a secondary device but somehow the Tab -perhaps due to its size-accomplishes the task more efficiently.
This evening my guys get home and I can honestly say I've never looked forward to seeing them as much as I do today!
